Fitzwilliam College Cambridge Led by Professor Alan Bryman, University of Leicester
Alan Bryman leads an open round-table discussion at the Conference. He is Professor of Organisational and Social Research at the Management Centre, University of Leicester. His main research interests lie in research methodology, leadership, organizationalanalysis, and Disneyization. He is author/co-author of many books, including: Quantity and Quality inSocial Research (Routledge, 1988), Charisma and Leadership in Organizations (Sage, 1992), SocialResearch Methods (OUP, 2001, 2004), Business Research Methods (OUP, 2003), and Disneyizationof Society (Sage, 2004). He is co-editor of The Sage Encyclopedia of Social Science Research (2004) and Handbook of Data Analysis (2004). Alan has been interested in mixed methods research since writing a chapter on the topic in Quantity and Quality in Social Research (1988) and has written several articles on mixed methods research since then. In 2003-4 he worked on a one-year Fellowship on 'Integrating quantitative and qualitative research: Prospects and limits' funded by the ESRC Research Methods Programme. This fellowship has resulted in publications in The Leadership Quarterly, Qualitative Research, International Journal of Social Research Methodology, and Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management: an International Journal.
